SONG OF THE MONTH
Written by Alessia Cara in 2016. Cara wrote it about her personal struggle with hair loss. Due to feeling self-conscious about her hair, she would straighten it, although this caused her hair to fall out. The song is a plea, telling a girl she's, "beautiful, just the way you are".
The song says, "She has dreams to be an envy, so she's starving
You know, "Covergirls eat nothing."
She says, "Beauty is pain and there's beauty in everything."
"What's a little bit of hunger?"
"I could go a little while longer," she fades away
She don't see her perfect, she don't understand she's worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface". It is a beautifully written song that hopefully will inspire some self love in everyone. After all, "No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful".
